TCX Street 3 WP Women’s Motorcycle Shoes (4 out 5, stylish wins practicality here!)
The TCX Street 3 WP Women is an easy recommendation for riders who want a subtle, everyday style that works both on and off the bike. It suits narrow to regular feet especially well, and I think it makes a lot of sense for city riding where comfort, weather protection, and understated design matter more than maximum sport-focused protection. I would still suggest trying it on first if possible, because the fit may feel narrow depending on your foot shape. Overall, I would gladly recommend it.

Buy if: you are looking for a subtle style, narrow to regular shoe size, and something that works well for city riding on and off the bike.
Skip if: you are looking for airy summer shoes or boots, full protection, or extreme convenience.
I wear a Size 36 and bought from FC-Moto for ¥23,225. I normally wear Size 6 from NIKE Air. In Japanese I am Size 225. Read more about my size measurements at About Me.
My main hope for the next version would be better hot-weather usability and a little more focus on practicality for daily city and urban use.

Who and What is the TCX Street 3 WP good for?
I used to wear a pair of Scoycos, but they broke very quickly (more on this later in another piece). I went on a product hunt in search of a replacement, and finally purchased the TCX Street 3 WP Women’s Motorcycle Shoes after researching a ton online.
The issue is there are just not that many options in the “urban, comfort, street riding” department for ladies. I was looking for a pair that was almost “vans” or “sneaker” style that was subtle enough for the cafe or office, and did not want something that scream “all out motorcycle!”.
The ones I was choosing between:
- TCX Street 3 Air
- Dainese Metractive Air (I got this pair as well – more review coming soon!)
- Alpinestars CR-X Drystar Riding Shoes (they have 22.5cm size!)
- Gaerne G Rome Gore-Tex Shoes (smallest is unfortunately size 37)
- Scoyco MT016 (read my full review here!)
Brand story
I was always a little irrationally skeptical of TCX, I think mainly because of the name. It is not very well known amongst people around me, and not much carried in the motorcycle stores here in Tokyo. Most stores are only filled with AlpineStars and etc.
However, after some digging around, I found that TCX was actually acquired by Dainese (click for the news link to Cycle News) back in 2020! In fact, from this piece of news I gathered that Dainese acquired TCX in order to gain access to the design, craftmenship and technology capabilities that TCX has to complement the Dainese footwear department and product portfolio. That probably inspired enough confidence to get myself a pair.
Final verdict: 4.0/5.0
The TCX Street 3 WP Women’s Motorcycle Shoes is Almost Perfect for daily use in the urban setting (e.g. casual city ride, going to work).
What Size Fits Me?

How Does the TCX Street 3 WP Look? What Outfit or Style Does It Go With? (5/5)
I did not manage to try these before buying even after visiting Naps and Ricoland. The information on the internet is not always accurate. So I had to buy these blind. I liked how it fit nicely with casual outfits like jeans and light jackets. I like how they don’t have the typical “shift pedal” wrap around the toes, a bit more subtle touch and can be worn even when I am not riding.

What Size to Get? How does the TCX Street 3 WP Fit? (5/5)
I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived and fitted 100% perfectly. Between the few pairs that I’ve gotten to date – TCX and Dainese sizes are pretty much the same (good reference points for future purchases). The width fits my feet perfectly, but I have narrower feet than most and I can see riders finding it uncomfortable as time passes.
TCX uses their “Women Fitting Concept” protocol – the insoles include an inner wedge specifically designed for female foot shape.

Is the TCX Street 3 WP Good Quality? Easy to Maintain? (5/5)
No complaints about the quality. It feels so much better than the pair of Scoyos that I had. It does not scar easily, and dirt is very easy to wipe off and clean, holding up well after a few months of wear. In fact, it is almost too good for daily casual riding, and it almost trades off practicality for me.

How does the TCX Street 3 WP Ride and Protect? (5/5)
No issues on the bike when I was hopping on and off to to to work. Laces have a good compartment to get tucked in and does not interfere with the pegs. Sole is well-designed and does not slip on the pegs. TCX is tuning the stiffness of the sole that strikes the balance between on-bike riding and off-bike walking comfortably, to me it is probably still on the stiffer side for comfort.
CE rated 1-2-2-1 is on the higher level (2) for abrasion and imapct-cut resistance which is on par with boots, and better than many comparable shoes. D3O ankle inserts are flexible normally and stiffen on impact to balance riding protection and urban use.
The unique point of these pair of shoes is that it does not have the typical “motorcycle shoe shift levers protector” but that did not affect the riding at all, and neither did the shift pedals leave any marks on the surface after repeated use
Is the TCX Street 3 WP Practical? Comfortable? Can I Walk Off-bike? (4/5)
Here is where I have some minor gripes about this pair of shoes. None of these are serious enough to make the shoes a no for me, but I do wish they could make some trade-offs to make this pair the perfect urban shoes.
Essentially, I think some trade-offs can be made between heat vs. waterproofness, protection vs. zipper practicality, for what is essentially an urban fashion piece.
- Heat! Waterproofing and high CE rating probably resulted in the unbreathability of these shoes. They run hot in the summer. In fact, I might be buying another pair of airier option with less protection.
- Waterproofing is superb with the T-Dry membrane, held up dry when I rode it in the rain. But during daily urban rides, the problem is almost always not just about footwear’s waterproofness, but things like water coming in from the top (low shoe height), and other outfit jeans and etc. that will be wet anyway.
- No side zippers which to me is a huge drawback. It is difficult to put on and take off at home or at Japanese restaurants. Zippers probably are to trade off protection, but no one buys a pair of urban shoes for protection?
- Urban casual style, which unfortunately does not go very well with work outfits and resulting in needing to change shoes etc. at the office –> going back to the zipper point.

Ending words
I will most probably choose the TCX Street 3 WP Women’s Motorcycle Shoes again if I have to repurchase. It solves most of the pain points for me and I think is better than other similar options out there in the aesthetics department. But I do find myself hoping for a few functionality changes in the next edition, and will still be looking out for a pair of summer shoes substitute.
