Top Leather Motorcycle Jackets for Petite Women Riders
For reference, I am 163 cm, 45 kg. I usually wear XS or S, Dainese size 40 for leather jackets.
It is a challenge, but super rewarding nonetheless, to find leather motorcycle jackets for petite women riders that fits nicely. Most European leather jackets are cut slim and snug by design — for petite, less-curvy builds, this is often a blessing for both stylistic points + safety and protection.

How leather jackets fit differs for petite women riders
- Leather stretches, textile does not. An experienced rider comment that stuck with me: “Leather jacket stretches as it breaks in — go tighter because it will loosen up about a whole size once broken in” (Motorcycle Forum). Snug at the shop is often right
- Back protectors take up a size. Multiple Dainese owners report the fit tightening noticeably once a back protector goes in — plan for it when choosing between two sizes
- Slim Euro cuts cut both ways. They fit petite, less-curvy builds well, but sleeves often run narrow and long — check elbow armor position with arms forward, exactly as in my jacket fit guide
Recommended leather motorcycle jackets for petite women
Dainese Avro 4 Lady
- Sizes: XS–XL (EU 38–46)
- Fit: runs small — slim race cut, snug shoulders and armpits
- Buy if: you are slim, sporty, and want leather that moves with a tuck
- Skip if: you need layering room — owners agree there is none
The evidence on this one is consistent across five sources: slim, snug, race-oriented. “The leather Avro 4 runs snug/race fit — thanks to stretch panels, Dainese jackets are usually snug fitting, even more so once you slide a back protector in” (Ducati.ms). One owner: “Jacket feels great all around except armpits are very snug — can’t fit a sweatshirt under it” (Motorcycle Forum). Also note the deliberately short cut — MCN points out it is meant to be worn zipped to the matching pants (MCN). For a petite, less-curvy frame, that close cut is precisely why armor stays put.
Dainese Racing 5 — the XXS unicorn
- Sizes: XXS–XL
- Fit: runs small; sporty but described as regular rather than race-tight
- Buy if: XS is still too big for you in most brands
- Skip if: budget is the priority — this is premium-priced
Very few premium leather jackets exist in XXS at all — that alone earns the Racing 5 its place here. A rider with a build I recognize: “I’m a girl with a smaller waist to bust ratio and wear the Dainese Racing 4. I’m big on going full protection, so obviously it’s not the cheapest” (Reddit r/motorcyclegear, on the previous generation). Dainese Razon 2
- Sizes: EU 38–54
- Fit: runs small, slim, sleeves run narrow and long
- Buy if: you want Dainese leather for the street rather than the track
- Skip if: you layer in winter — the liner already makes it snug
“I have a Razon that I absolutely love. It’s a bit restrictive with the winter liner in” (Ducati.ms). GearChic’s sizing note applies here too: “Dainese is a fairly slim brand — tends to run narrow and long in the sleeves. Snap adjustments at hip and cuffs allow some tuning” (GearChic). Long-ish sleeves are the recurring Dainese trade-off for petite riders — fine with short gloves, annoying otherwise.
Alpinestars Stella Dusk
- Sizes: EU 38–52
- Fit: runs small; anatomic “Comfort Sport” cut, snug shoulders
- Buy if: you want shape and armor stability without a full race crouch
- Skip if: you plan to wear more than a base layer under it
Alpinestars describes the Stella Dusk as “multi-panel 3D construction for an enhanced ergonomic Comfort Sport fit — anatomically engineered” for women (Alpinestars official). The rider-feedback pattern matches the brand’s Stella reputation from my jackets guide: friendly to slimmer builds, snug in the shoulders, and a reviewer notes “adding a back protector slightly tightens the fit across the back” (Ultimate Motorcycling) — so decide your size with the protector in.
MotoGirl Fiona — the anti-race-cut option
- Sizes: UK 6–24 (XXS–5XL)
- Fit: true to size, roomier women-first cut
- Buy if: Euro race cuts pinch you in the shoulders or bust, or you want retro style with a detachable hood
- Skip if: you want the tightest possible race fit
MotoGirl designs for women only, across UK 6–24, and it shows in the feedback: 7 sources, true to size, the most positive fit spread of any leather jacket in my data. MCN describes the buffalo-leather Fiona as “retro looks with a sporty twist, featuring a detachable cotton hood” (MCN). The cut runs roomier than the Euro brands above — which is exactly why it belongs here: petite does not always mean slim, and this is the strongest option on this list if you need bust or shoulder room in a small size (webBikeWorld).
Oxford Lady Beckley
- Sizes: XXS–L
- Fit: true to size; notably soft leather with no break-in period
- Buy if: you want comfortable casual leather starting at XXS without premium pricing
- Skip if: you want a sporty, armor-tight fit
The standout owner comment: “It’s a lovely soft leather that didn’t need breaking in like my previous jackets” — rare praise in this category, where break-in pain is normal. It starts at XXS, and reviewer feedback is consistently true to size (SportsBikeShop reviews). A softer, more forgiving choice than the Dainese/Alpinestars school — good first leather.
Jackets and details I would treat carefully
- MotoGirl Valerie — well loved, but owners specifically praise the long sleeves: “The arm length is the best bit, nice and long” (MotoGirl reviews). Great for tall riders; the opposite of what most petite riders need
- Sizing up twice for shoulders — one GearChic reader “had to size up 2 times to fit sleeves and shoulders — then added a heavy back protector to take up volume in the body” (GearChic). Clever fix, but if you need +2 sizes, the jacket is probably wrong for your frame
- Anything without a size chart in cm — leather is unforgiving and expensive to return. If a brand only gives S/M/L with no garment measurements, check rider comments in the Size Guide first
